Bury your head in the sand and hope the terrorist that are already there ignore us?
Nation building doesn’t work. When we leave things go back to the way they were, if they aren’t worse.
Smashing everything and then leaving doesn’t work, for the same reason.
Sending in troops or dropping the A-bomb will create more problems than it solves.
What Trump did more or less worked. Keep the price of oil low. Don’t give them money. Isolate them diplomatically, that is, use regional powers against Iran, and don’t give world powers a reason to ally with Iran. Take specific, targeted reprisals against terrorist leaders and groups as necessary.
I don’t know if we can do that now, but Trump was on the right track.
