When he was in the Minnesota Legislature, he was often a blowhard and voted pretty conservatively. He ran for Governor and his campaign was less than inspiring. had a hard time raising money. That hurt him in the end when the race got close.
He ended up with a seat in Congress as a consolation prize of sorts when Michelle Bachman decided to retire. his district is solid GOP and he’ll hold it as long as he wants to.
He’s not RINO material - but he’s not a real true conservative either. Sadly enough, he may be just the person we need to be Speaker.
