Macgregor's ideas were not universally accepted. Here's a book review by Maj. James Agar in Military Law Review, #160 - (link).

His ideas were nice in theory to the Army (not the Navy or Air Force), short on how to make it work, and long on bitterness showing through After the invasion of Iraq in 2003, is was widely considered that Rumsfeld had too small a force to invade and hold, ideas influenced by Macgregor.

Re: 60 - thanks for that review. I had read that many years ago and it was informative.

I would not think that MacGregor’s failure to gain command of a brigade would be appropriate to be noted in his book.

There can be reasonable disagreement about Army force size in OIF and follow-on operations. MacGregor could address those issues in detail in a book at some point.
