Thanks for posting a mist amusing essay, merely recycling previous arguments.

Of Rees, one reads: Prof Rees’ academic work has been widely recognized. He has served on numerous advisory committees and lectured by invitation in 30 countries. Rees is a founding member and former President of the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics; a founding Director of the One Earth Initiative; and a Fellow of the Post-Carbon Institute. He was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2006 and, in 2007, was awarded a prestigious Trudeau Foundation Fellowship. In 2012, Prof Rees received an Honorary Doctorate from Laval University, the Boulding Prize in Ecological Economics and a Blue Planet Prize (jointly with Dr Wackernagel). He was elected a full member of the Club of Rome in 2014.

Among the other features of the "post carbon" folks is that ubiquitous "donate" button because -- money. And one can post on the site for money: "Article Processing Charges (APC) Information"

See: https://www.mdpi.com/apc

And, by the way, the domain which hosts this particular "modern Malthus" is for sale: $94,888 USD.

Yup, as the nameservers show nicely: Name Servers: ns1.domain-is-4-sale-at-domainmarket.com ns2.domainmarket.com

Carbon foot print? Actually one follows this back to a money footprint, as happens with so much of the "green" movement.....
