Jon Stewart’s show on Apple’s TV streaming service is no more — and China was reportedly an issue.
Stewart and Apple have parted ways after executives at the tech giant expressed misgivings about future episodes of the show that would potentially delve into sensitive topics such as China and artificial intelligence, according to The New York Times. The move brings about a surprise end to “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” which ran for two years on Apple TV+.
Initially, the show was a ratings flop, managing a meager audience in its first season. But the second season brought several viral moments. The show eventually earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding talk series.

Between this and his support for the lab leak theory, he may be looked down upon. Of course, he still thinks all white people are evil.
Good for Jon Stewart in standing up to Apple and their ChiCom puppetmasters!
2 minutes after they broke up, his agent called Elon Musk.
Because they want access to a market that has 20% of the human population.
For the love of money is the root of all evil.
There is no US-based capitalist more subservient to China than Musk.

Perhaps. But he may not last long in China anyway with their domestic market putting out much cheaper electric cars. However, Musk has opened Twitter up to people such as Tucker Carlson. He purportedly wants it to be a free and open public square. He’s also offered content creators 100% of their ad revenues for a year (minus Apple fees). So whether and how he is able to walk that balance will be interesting to see unfold. Musk also wants to take on Apple and Google in various areas - he rebranded X because he wants it to be an all-purpose social media search payments content platform, not just a place for snarky comments from bitter people.
They invited Musk in to steal the technology.
Stewart may be one of the few liberals with some principles.
Musk seems ‘reasonable’ only compared to the last generation of tycoons like Gates, Larry Ellison, and current Bezos.
He’s still shadow banning people on Twitter over more or less nothing. It’s not as bad as with Dorsey and the actual feds running it, but it’s not really that great either.
This.
The real reason was the show was a flop.

“Tesla’s made-in-Shanghai vehicles remain well received by mainland Chinese and foreign customers.” The factory, located in the city’s Lingang free-trade zone and also known as Giga Shanghai, churned out 710,000 vehicles last year, more than half of the company’s total output of 1.31 million units.

Musk will NOT piss off his Chinese masters.
Because China owns their butts.
