We will continue to go nowhere electing individuals under the Republican label when, once elected, they insist on voting in opposition to it. The Demonrats don’t put up with that crap. If a single one of their House members ventured off the plantation to either vote GOP for Speaker or to sandbag their designated Speaker candidate, that member would never see the light of day again.
They manage to achieve quite a level of “purity of essence” (take a look at their voting habits, nearly 100% of their members vote in almost 100% lockstep). Yet expecting that of Republican members is somehow bad and will lose votes ?
Whut ?

True.
Republicans have a slight numerical advantage, yet they lack a critical mass.
LBJ famousilous said of J. Edgar Hoover. “Well, it’s probably better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.”
