He said Europe did participate little. Well, it's the opposite! The participate a lot. And now we have the proof in numbers.
The EU is +€170 billion behind the USA
So according to this article, Ukraine has not received only 140 billion from usa, they have also received another or greater part from europe? Yet they have made zero progress and reclaiming any ground. Unreal.
Over the summer, the European Union has sent a clear signal by announcing a new €50 billion multi-year support package to be delivered between 2023 and 2027, which doubles total EU commitments. The EU’s “Ukraine Facility” is part of the EU’s budget plans until 2027, showing a lasting commitment to support Ukraine.
So pledges for aid in the future count as much as aid already delivered?
I, too, have tried to follow the Ukrainian war and have seen very little of the European contributions. In fact news accounts make one believe the Europeans have been winding down their participation.
“Get your money for nothing...”
Ukraine Support Tracker: Europe clearly overtakes US, with total commitments now twice as large
A THIRD OF A TRILLION DOLLARS? Holy cow, who says you can’t live off of OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY.
Sorry Kraut-funded fake research!
“ The Kiel Institute is an independent foundation under public law of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.
“As such it is basically funded by the German Federal Government and the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
“… total commitments now twice as large…”

“Commitments” — also known as “Promises”.
Hey, Frenchie, how about comparing what has been actually DELIVERED!
Go check his link.
All such data sources are state funded or partly state funded institutions.
If you’re going to quibble at that then you need to give up on every data source.
Let’s look at WW2 for a second:
The Lend-Lease Act was signed into law on March 11, 1941, and ended on September 20, 1945. A total of $50.1 billion (equivalent to $719 billion in 2021) worth of supplies was shipped from the USA to our allies.
Lets not forget that UK paid back all its lend-lease in 2006.
What Ukraine gets today is NOT given. It’s lend-lease.
Should commitments for future aid not yet delivered count as much as aid already delivered?
Because this Kiel Institute clearly thinks it should.
The data in the link (download the spreadsheet) indicates amounts actually transferred and spent. And a great deal else besides.
It’s an essential data source for the Ukraine situation. It is always necessary to put in the work.
Facts are stubborn things:
“The Kiel Institute, which closely tracks contributions, estimates total European commitments from member states and institutions as of July 2023 to be over $145 billion, nearly double the United States’ total bilateral commitment of almost $77 billion”
This source is not independent from the western intelligence services putting out propaganda non-stop.
Even the accounting is suspect, as pointed out upthread.
Highlighting this fact:
“Lets not forget that UK paid back all its lend-lease in 2006.
What Ukraine gets today is NOT given. It’s lend-lease.”
“What Ukraine gets today is NOT given. It’s lend-lease.”
When was this mentioned? Has a repayment promise been made? What’s the schedule?
