U.S. to send Israel artillery shells initially designated for Ukraine, per Axios
The Pentagon plans to send Israel tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells that had been designated for Ukraine from U.S. emergency stocks several months ago, according to Israeli officials reports Axios.

But officials say the US has been nearing that red line as it has continued to supply Ukraine with 155mm ammunition, the NATO standard used for artillery rounds. The US began ramping up ammunition production last year when it became clear that the war would drag on far longer than anticipated. But the ammunition will still take “years” to mass produce to acceptable levels, National Security adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN Sunday.
And what happened to the large stocks of artillery shells we had “pre-positioned” in Israel?
Israel needs the variant of shells that have been coated in bacon grease.
That was already sent to ukraine.

Amid their counteroffensive, Ukrainian guns are firing up to 6,000 rounds daily, Ukrainian MP Oleksandra Ustinova told CNN, but the military wants to shoot more than 10,000. Even that is a fraction of the 60,000 shells that Russia was using at the peak of its barrages this year, per an Estonian and Ukrainian government analysis.
All in all, Kyiv needs some 1.5 million artillery shells annually, according to the CEO of one of Europe’s largest arms manufacturers, Rheinmetall.
By July, the US had supplied more than two million artillery rounds to Ukraine since the 2022 invasion, the Pentagon said. The European Union has supplied at least a quarter of million this year, in addition to bilateral donations directly between individual member states and Ukraine. The United Kingdom, too, has also donated ammunition.

The equipment install date for USA increased capacity is midyear 2026.
At that point maximum USA production will be 3000 per day.
That’s a longer timeline than the Manhattan project to get to about one sixth of Russia current production.

No. Vegetable Head Joes sanctions insured the cheap metal, propellants ( petroleum based) and energetic filled chemicals (explosives ) from Russia would be shut down……or at the least prices to obtain ingredients jacked up to ridiculous prices.

One has to wonder if we have any “emergency use” stocks in Taiwan that Biden is shipping to Ukraine.
