It may be disgusting but is done all the time in major cases, the Feds go after the lower-level people first, offer them a deal to flip in exchange for a lighter sentence and using that strategy they Feds have put away mobsters on down.

If you see Rudy Guiliani or Mark Meadows pleading guilty really soon, then Trump is in real danger.

Turning state’s evidence has been around since before the Declaration of Independence. Good luck overturning over 270 years of jurisprudence.

given their, ahem, flexible moral code, lawyer defendants can usually be relied on to grab a deal in exchange for flipping. It’s in their DNA.
