Sidney Powell, the Trump-aligned lawyer and conspiracy theorist indicted in Georgia and accused of participating in a plot to overturn former President Donald J. Trump’s election loss in 2020, pleaded guilty on Thursday morning to six misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference of election duties.
Ms. Powell, who appeared in a downtown Atlanta courtroom, was sentenced to six years of probation for the charges, a significantly less-severe outcome than she would have faced if found guilty of the charges for which she was originally indicted, which included a violation of the state racketeering law

I put this on FR a long time ago. Back when freepers thought Gen Flynn had a chance on appeal - he didn’t. I think a corrupt dysfunctional legal system has more to do with this than anything else.

By going to actual trial, we will see the strength of the claims vs the supporting evidence of those claims. No we won't. We will see a circus of lies parading around as if it had good sense. Our courts are garbage, ran by idiots, and often corrupt idiots as is the case with this Judge.
Most conservatives are aware of just how broken and disgusting is our judiciary, and so one has to ask what is wrong with you?
Anyone expressing faith or admiration in our court system is an idiot. These judges need to be dragged out of the courthouse and beaten on the steps. They are horrible people and I hope to see them all thrown from power someday.
So stop talking about "Justice" in our garbage courts. You won't find Justice there, or even sanity.

Stop pretending our legal system is still functional. Democrats and their lawyers constantly get away with illegal stuff, so you need to update your understanding to acknowledge the truth of our current legal system.
It's rigged, it's garbage, and the people running it are liars, corrupt, and idiots, or various combinations of the three.

Prosecutors rarely hand out lenient plea deals to people who are then free to testify in such a way that the rest of the prosecution's case falls apart.
It is very hard to know if somebody is lying, or they just changed their view of something.
To: baclava
I’ve noticed in past cases that the former Trump associates who testify against him have very often contradicted themselves as well as documented evidence.
To: Skwor
I’m not sure any of her testimony will be of any use in a PDJT prosecution.
There ARE other co-defendants.

Yeah…you are right. That’s not how it works in legal and medical areas.
You can’t get results when there is nothing to argue. His lawyers cannot seem to explain “standing” to him. 1Ls can do that. Why doesn’t Trump understand it?

Well, plus Powell was saying a lot of things she didn’t even begin to support. She’s probably the most vulnerable overall, given what she was flinging.

I do agree she’s a bit of a flake. I also can not deny Trump has a complicated track record with hiring talent, some of his misses have been wildly off target.

Fulton County prosecutors drop all 7 felony charges against Sidney Powell - in exchange for a misdemeanor plea.
They overcharged and they knew it.
The Fulton County DA lied to the court repeatedly about the law.
They hid exculpatory evidence from the grand jury (violating the prosecutor’s oath to do justice).
And now the felonies vanish on the eve of trial. Totally unjust prosecution.
