I imagine she was taken to a stuffy little room and told if she doesn’t plead guilty she will be imprisoned for life. The rule of law is FINISHED in the USA. The nation is dead. Attorneys are only at risk to testify when their client is asking them to participate in illegal activities. At that point, atty client priv is pierced. Powell was charged in committing criminal acts. Her shield was pierced. Why she didn’t pull a Rudy and simply welch on legal obligations as her case proceeded in court is anyone’s guess unless she became lucid enough to see the handwriting on the wall.

The US Constitution does not guarantee equal outcomes in life, but it does guarantee equal application of the law.

That is the one thing the legal system never provides. Wealthy men with connections get off, and the rest of us have to spend enormous amounts of money in any effort to get "justice."

And when it is over, the government has taken our property (money) without due compensation.

Our legal system is garbage.
