There is another way to treat syphilis. For about a year, combine neoarsphenamine injections and stomach rubbing of mercury. It’s the way the illness was treated throughout the 1800s and early 1900s.

I am reminded how on the expedition of Lewis and Clark that when they got to the far west they warned their soldiers about the local Indian girls and reminded them that they had used up their supply of mercury for syphilis.
