Moments after thousands of pro-Palestinian protestors descended on the US embassy in Lebanon and set fire, military members unleashed gas and smoke to push them back.
The protests in the Middle East come after a blast at a hospital in Gaza that Hamas claims killed at least 500 people sparked widespread outrage.
Iran-backed Hezbollah, which fought a war with Israel in 2006, called for a day of protest in Beirut on Tuesday in response to the attack.
Thousands of Lebanese protesters, some waving Palestinian flags, gathered late into Tuesday night outside the US embassy in response to the incident.
Video shows the protestor scaling a barb-wire-topped fence to replace a US flag with a Palestinian version. A fire was also set near the complex. Later, footage showed gas being sprayed at the protestors to push them back.
DailyMail.com has reached out to the State Department for comment on the situation. It's unclear if any protestors have breached the perimeter fence or if any embassy personnel have been hurt.

I don’t think a wet diaper can put out the infernal forces unleashed tonight.
We’ve already lost four embassies under this administration-
if not for the fascism in real life-the above would be news.
4? When did I miss that?
We only lost one under Jimmah Carter.

Perfect. Send in a few choppers with gunships, evacuate the embassy, and then drop a MOAB on it. Target rich environment there.
Call in the fast movers with Napalm.
How much money do we waste on Lebanon? I bet they get plenty foreign aid, but Biden will want to increase that after tonight/today. Republicans wanting to be bipartisan will support it too.
You forgot the one lost along with the Ambassador himself, under Obama, where Hilary as Secretary of State said: “What difference does it make?”
Why aren’t the Marine Embassy guards shooting them?
