You could fit four Marylands into New Mexico!
the purpose of evs is to destroy private transportation
most will be on the bus
My one word answer would be--democRATS!
what happened to New Mexico? voter and electoral fraud is what happened.
the general public just isn’t THAT stupid...
Yeah no kidding! Take a drive in your EV from Albuquerque to Hobbs.
Hold on to your wallets New Mexicans, I smell a yuge tax hike coming.
LOTS of open highways in New Mexico.
TOWING BUSINESS WILL SERIOUSLY RISE
It wouldn’t make it much more liberal.

I have.
UNM!
I have made it several times. Winter driving through this area can be very interesting.
I presume the Highway Patrol will have to go EV...that should work out well. I hope state doesn’t operate fire trucks and ambulances
I heard a Preacher once call it University Next to Mom.
Anytime can be interesting ๐. Hailstorms, flash floods, tornadoes....
Just ack from trip to Santa Fe. At airport car rental told agent did not want an EV. HE laughed and said good as we have none. Not practical here! But the nitwits who vote them in get what they deserve. She is also anti 2a as I recall. Lots of west coast royalty in Santa Fe by the way. Even the oprah have a place there.
Given the last three elections here and the down-ballot discrepancies that appeared to pop up, I really don't think we did. It's just that the Dems are in charge of counting all the ballots and the Republican Party here is too timid to do anything about it.
Because they already have sunk cost in vehicles they are running currently.
If she mandates all state vehicles must be electric today, then all the vehicles currently in service that aren’t would need to be replaced today, costing the state millions if not billions of dollars.
Basically the date is likely set by the life expectancy of vehicles in service. IE the life expectancy of a shuttle bus is 10 or 11 years, for example, so by mandating all electric by 2035 you have gone through the replacement cycle of every vehicle currently owned by the state.
So the mandate is basically, when it comes time to replace any state vehicle moving forward, you must buy an electric, and every vehicle should be replaced by 2035 based on service life expectancy.
