The Israeli military has signalled that the next steps of its campaign against Palestinian militant group Hamas need not be a long anticipated ground incursion.
“We are preparing for the next stages of war. We haven’t said what they will be. Everybody’s talking about the ground offensive. It might be something different,” a spokesperson said.
Israel is on its 11th day of an aerial bombardment campaign of the Gaza Strip, over which it has ordered a total siege, cutting off water, food and electricity supplies to a population of 2 million people.
The siege, which human rights groups have criticized for breaking humanitarian law, comes in response to a brutal terrorist attack by Hamas on Oct. 7. The death toll from the conflict so far has risen to at least 1,400 people killed in Israel and more than 2,700 people killed in Gaza. The Israeli government says that Hamas is holding at least 199 hostages kidnapped from Israel.
Israel’s Gaza evacuation order could amount to a crime of “forcible transfer” in breach of international law, according to a spokesperson for the U.N. human rights office.

I thought that this was the Bee.
US out of the UN, the UN out of the US.
It is a good thing that the US was not around for WWII, the Allies would have lost.
It has become clear over the years that the UN protects terrorist. The UN has become the enemy of western nations.
Isn’t murder of innocents and beheading babies and grandma’s against some kind of humanitarian law??

This may be the best way to go. Gaza is surrounded. They are destroying the tunnel system and like all sieges the defenders have the odds in their favor as long as their supplies last.
However I don’t think Hamas figured on total destruction of their support system. Cut off from food, water, electricity and their support system (the citizens of Gaza) how long can they survive?
Move the UN to "Palestine".
Maybe Iran's threats have cowed the Israelis?
The Senile SOB in Chief, Biden, is going to Israel tomorrow, and he is probably against it because it might interfere with his kickbacks from Iran.
Agree. Siege works. The minute they go in hard, Hezzbollah will attack from the North. Let them all squirm on anticipation.

Filling the remaining tunnels with pure nitrogen? Demolition of remaining buildings”
It could be lighting Iran up like a Christmas Tree, and wiping out Hezbollah. Hamas wouldn’t be much of a problem to handle after that.
It just got worse from there - everyone in the UN station in Jerusalem was clearly anti-Israeli. I was astounded that there was such hostility but I kept my mind open while I was dealing with Israeli troops and civilians and Palestinians and Egyptians.
I found that the Israelis had a bit of an attitude but were professional in their dealings with us and for the most part, so were the Arabs. There were good guys and there were turds on both sides.
When I left, the same anti-Israeli folks checked me out- and the UN remained biased until the last.
It was hard for me to understand how they could be peacekeepers and be so strongly biased against one side.
Or maybe they are about to light up Iran, and level Tehran.
Exactly! We need to take this opportunity to remove Iran's nuke program for the next 1000 years and turn the whole place into a smoking hole.
How many divisions does the UN command?
Anyone?
Bueller?
As expected the US/UN is putting their foot on Israel’s neck. Meanwhile the treasonous media is pushing the BS that “brave Joe is standing strong with Israel”.
Sending ground troops is madness. Better to rain bombs from the air along with ceaseless artillery strikes for a couple of weeks. Then wait to see if anything is left moving.
If there is repeat for another couple of weeks

What’s hard to understand is why American taxpayers are being forced to pay these savages one thin dime.

$674.2 billion. 22% of the total UN contributions. The next closest country is China, at 12%. Saudi Arabia is giving $35.9 million, which is ~16% of the annual salary they're paying one international soccer player per year (Cristiano Ronaldo, reportedly $222.6 million / year).

Years ago, Hamas built at least one vast underground city - complete with everything you’d find in an above ground one. That they did not build huge fuel and water caches is not a possibility - they can likely hold out for years.
Support system people are just taken at gunpoint as needed. Disposed of when purpose fulfilled as warranted.
