Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) warned Iran against escalating the conflict in Israel after Hamas launched an unprecedented, deadly attack on the nation more than a week ago.
“I just got off the phone with the Israelis. Their goal is to destroy Hamas in the south and try to save as many innocent Palestinians as possible to prevent escalation north from Hezbollah,” Graham said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “Here’s my message. If Hezbollah, which is a proxy of Iran, launches a massive attack on Israel, I would consider that a threat to the State of Israel, existential in nature.”
“I will introduce a resolution in the United States Senate to allow military action by the United States in conjunction with Israel to knock Iran out of the oil business. Iran, if you escalate this war, we’re coming for you.”
Earlier this month, militant group Hamas launched its attack on Israel, resulting in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declaring war on the group, which the U.S. has labeled as a terrorist organization. The war has claimed more than 3,600 lives across Israel and Gaza as Israel prepares for a possible ground operation into Gaza.
Iran-backed Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, and Israel have exchanged fire in recent days in the wake of Israel’s separate front against Palestinian militant group Hamas.
When asked if he was ready to declare war on Iran, Graham said he was ready to use military force to destroy the funding backing Hamas and Hezbollah.
” I am poised to use military forced to destroy the source of funding for Hamas and Hezbollah. The idea that Iran read about this operation in the paper, or on television is laughable. Ninety-three percent of Hezbollah and Hamas’ money comes from Iran. They’re the source of the problem. They’re the great evil. So, if Hezbollah escalates against Israel, it will be because Iran told them to. Then Iran, you’re in the crosshairs of the United States and Israel.”
We have a by law agreement, US Code 22 with Israel designating them a Major Non NATO Ally, passed by Senate, House, and Potus.
22 USCode §2321k. Designation of major non-NATO allies
Israel is approved by House, Senate, and President as a Major Non-NATO Ally. Ukraine is not.
“We’re gay, we’re fierce, we’re in your face!”
When we’re at our weakest, culturally and militarily speaking? We don’t even have any oil left for emergencies, and drilling has basically been cancelled, along with processing.
Thr only people who will be left to defend the nation will be the National Guard, LEO’s, and civvies, and civvie weaponry in many areas is limited depending on the color of your state.
Good, send Linda.
Wait, if Hamas’ money comes from Iran, but Iran’s money comes from the Biden administration, isn’t Biden the source of the problem?
Is Lindsey gonna go over to Iran and smack the Ayatollah with her purse?
Miss Lindsey, don’t you have a Cotillion to attend?
Hey Linda, keep it in your mouth - permanently - so we don't have to hear you screeching on and on about getting us involved in another war we'll deliberately lose but you and your defense contractor buddies will make bank on.
Liddle Linda couldn’t “come for” anybody except his underage pool boy.
He needs to shut up forever.
Biden’s warning is useless unless he follows through on it.
Im sick of Linda Graham always pushing for another war fought and paid for by Americans. How many of these countries have paid for or fought and paid for or died in our wars. End this multi - citizenship that distorts what they mean by “American citizens”.
Send this flaming fag to fight Iran. Our nation is near collapse without this war. Let him and his NeoCons fight it personally.
Lindsay joined the Airforce in 1982 after graduating from law school. He was an active-duty military lawyer for 6 1/2 years including 4 in Germany until 1988. In 1989 he joined the South Carolina Air National Guard and served with them until 1995. He was a stateside active-duty lawyer for the South Carolina Air National Guard for about 6 months from 1990-1991. After that he was a lawyer in the Air Force Reserves until 2015.
“During the 1990–1991 Gulf War, Graham was recalled to active duty, serving as a judge advocate at McEntire Air National Guard Station in Eastover, South Carolina, where he helped brief departing pilots on the laws of war. In 1998, the Capitol Hill daily newspaper The Hill contended that Graham was describing himself on his website as an Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran. Graham responded: “I have not told anybody I'm a combatant. I'm not a war hero, and never said I was. ... If I have lied about my military record, I'm not fit to serve in Congress”, further noting that he “never deployed”.
From 1995 to 2005, he put in 108 hours of training, less than a day and a half each year, on average. Mr. Graham said in campaign videos that he “served as a reserve duty officer in Iraq and Afghanistan.” His actual war zone tours consisted of specially arranged stints that lasted a few days and coincided with trips he made as part of congressional delegations. In 1998, Graham claimed to be a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, even though he was never deployed to that conflict... He has also made other statements about his service that were false. For his efforts he is currently receiving approximately $3000 a month from his military pension.
One reason that someone who did so little during his time in the service was not forcibly retired and instead was promoted and received additional ribbons and awards including the Bronze Star was because the “Air Force got to keep a lawmaker in its ranks who had stature and sway on Capitol Hill. Mr. Graham, a conservative hawk, sits on the Senate appropriations, armed services, budget and judiciary committees.”

But it is good to see you here sticking up for a fellow "cold warrior" who has successfully played the system, and used his service to influence those who haven't bothered to look into what an insignificant role he actually played during his "career".
Not a matter of sticking up for someone in post 58, merely correcting simple ignorance.
Freepers should not be ignorant of what “chickenhawk” means, it makes us look really, really stupid.

A chicken hawk is someone who always promotes military action but who never served.
“In 2015, he retired at his last rank of Colonel from the Air Force with over 33 total years of service, after reaching the statutory retirement age of 60 for his rank.”

Does he think that he’s the president?
Oh don’t worry. Joe Biden is still the president
Yes, sadly, if you look up the definition of the meaning of the slang usage of the word “chicken hawk”... two pictures illustrate the meaning. One is of brave and determined little Henry the Chickenhawk dragging off Foghorn Leghorn.
The other picture is of this vicious clown...
There are two definitions given in the "Urban Dictionary":
1. Older male who seeks the company or favours of a younger male. The term has homosexual overtones.
2. A politician or other person who promotes war without having had any personal experience of it; especially those who have avoided the experience.

Either might describe Lindsay Graham. He technically was a member of the US Air Force for 30 years, much of this time he was unpaid and doing no actual work for the Air Force or the reserves, The closest he came to being deployed to anything resembling combat was when he was attended some carefully arranged stints that lasted a few days and coincided with trips he made as part of congressional delegations.
It does embarrass me that you as a "cold warrior" have no clue what the actual understood meaning of "chickenhawk". The vast majority of Lindsay Grahams 30 years as a "member of the military" shamefully earned points toward an undeserved military pension; he was unpaid as an Air Force officer while a congressman and senator; he was ineligible for a military paycheck during his time in the federal government. He was technically not retired but did not participate in any worthwhile activities with the Air Force, in other words, his long years of military service were mostly a joke.
It is an embarrassment to me that you have made an attempt to mischaracterize Lindsay Graham's time in the military. I am not sure if this is from "simple ignorance" or intentional deviousness.
