“before it’s too late”

Should we read between the lines here?

Oh, let's do that!

[Speculation]

"Before it's too late" is just grandstanding. It is already too late for Iran to stop doing what they are doing. But they will take advantage of any opportunity to do something a little faster. What Israel does or does not do will not matter very much.

Iran may think they have a working nuclear weapon. They are planning to use it. They just need to work out a few details, like how to get it there. They also need to wait for an easterly wind to keep the fallout from blowing back into Iran.

After all, what Iranian official wants to send bad news up to the rulers that the progress reports might have been a bit too optimistic?

Oops. Somebody ordered a new desk which was delivered to an office in a secret military installation connected with the Iranian nuclear weapons development. The desk contained an explosive paneling feature, which detonated after installation and took out the whole office. I guess that program has been delayed for a while.

In the meantime, they have bought up all those American small arms we left at the Taliban Weapons Bazaar. Nobody can haggle for better deals like an Iranian trader. No doubt they got some sweet discounts for quantity purchases.

Now they are shipping them off to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Some of those shipments are bound to get through customs. Unless the Israelis object in some way.

Iran makes some pretty good drones and rockets too. Hezbollah already has lots of them, but the Iranians are sending more.

[/Speculation]
