For those who don’t know Dugin’s significance, by all means see the following link about Alexander Dugin who is a profound influencer on Putin’s policies of infiltration and conquest. See the 21 bullet points listed there, the import is truly frightening. I consider his book as profoundly important today as was Mein Kampf in the 1930s. It is being taught in the Russian military schools, and recommended for teaching in the secondary schools. It was published in 1997 just as Putin came to power and influence in the Russian secret service.

Dugin’s daughter was accidentally assassinated not long ago as Dugin walked away from what became a killing site with his daughter left driving the car that was blown up.
I think that Dugin’s influence is seriously over-estimated. He is a academic theoretician that doesn’t line up with core Russian interests in many cases.
For example his Eurasianism implies that Kaliningrad would be returned to German control and the Baltics especially Estonia conceded to German influence. And the Kuriles Islands returned to Japan.
Well, that kind of territorial concessions are clearly not on wrt Putin. And anyone recommending those moves is going to have limited influence.
