I don’t think so. Israel pulled all settlements out of Gaza circa 2005. Ariel Sharon, one of the most hawkish Israeli leaders ever, made the call. It’s not worth it militarily or civilian to try to rule over or live among such hostile territory.
They could build a moat.
First things first though. They will eliminate the Hamas/Gaza war machine. My guess, they will help the Palestinian Authority regain rule over Gaza. Let Palestinians with diplomatic ties around the world rule Palestinians. Hamas only has ties to terrorist nations and militias.
They will probably divide the land according to some agreement. Neither maximalist side will get what they want. I am one of those people who don’t think Israel should rule over the Palestinians and if the Palestinians want their independence they should declare it. But they never have. There is a reason for that. That reason may soon no longer have meaning.
