“He wants to be President of the states that vote for him.”
This is foolish and pandering. While it may display the appearance of concern, it is going to send American people into a war zone where Americans are unprepared for large scale combat and are going to be targets of attack and/or kidnapping and torture. I can promise you that state militias or private citizens are not prepared for this type of violence and harm to be used on them and the people they are going after.
Additionally we are not currently in this battle with boots on the ground in open combat and it needs to stay that way after our failures in such countries as Vietnam, Afghanistan, and our messed up efforts to stop terrorism even within our own borders.
It is the responsibility of the governors to press the federal government to do their job. And if it displays the failure of that unit, which does have the manpower, equipment, and training for this type of work, whether it chooses to use it or not, but it is their responsibility and the governors should publicly insist they use it. Then if they fail again then they are not doing their job and should be voted out as soon as possible. Sending Americans in without the above capacity and the only thing I can promise you is they are going to get people killed, more than what could get caught now. It’s reckless and not well thought out other than pandering for votes. If he doesn’t do it, he’s trolling for votes. If he does, he’s sending people into harm. Lose/lose.

If he fails yeah condemn his pandering...if he succeeds you can still say he was pandering but “attaboy” him at the same time. Desantis has governed well and Florida has recovered fairly well after several hurricanes. No one is complaining and even the media has found nothing he has done wrong in the damage control area...or else you’d have heard about it...morning, noon and night!
