Also it is Friday the 13th and there’s an eclipse of the Sun the next day. That will be an “annular” eclipse which means the moon is too small (near its apogee) to cover all the solar disk even in the zone of totality, which if you didn’t already know, covers large parts of Oregon, Nevada, Utah, New mexico and west Texas. The event occurs from about 0920 on Oregon coast to past noon in Texas (two hours of the differential is due to time zones, the rest is due to the orbital motion of the moon). Almost all of Utah will see this “ring of fire” eclipse around 11:00 mountain time, if it’s not cloudy. Where it is cloudy, expect it to get almost twilight dark at totality but not pitch black.
