That's definitely coming, or the test will be relegated to a "racist" metric which will not be considered in all public colleges and universities.
I experienced a similar dumbing down. The job site Indeed administered a panel of optional proficiency exams to job seekers to highlight their skills in specific areas. The score levels were "expert," "highly proficient," "proficient," "familiar" and "unfamiliar." By any standard, this was a useful tool to employers for finding the best people for a specific role.
Within the past year, the scores were leveled to "proficient" and "not proficient." I had scored expert or highly proficient on several skills test but was now rated as "proficient." When I contacted Indeed, they informed me of the change. I was demoted for the sake of a few sub-optimal "minorities" who felt "oppressed" by the rating system.
Sounds typical.
I won awards in the USAF and worked hard in ChemE and EE.
Then I went to an IBEW job.
Now, I just keep my head down and stay just under metrics.
Remote, non union, electrical distribution design work.
The last 6+ months, every hire was a minority or female.
I take my money, and I am checked out at 1700 on the dot.
