Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced Tuesday that the state would be increasing sanctions against Iranian businesses after the country celebrated the attacks on Israel conducted by Palestinian militant group Hamas that have left more than 1,000 people dead.

The Iranian government rejected allegations that it assisted Hamas with its preparations for the attack, but U.S. officials have acknowledged that Iranians are indirectly complicit in training, funding and support of the group.

DeSantis was joined by members of the Florida Legislature and leaders of the Jewish community at the Shul of Bal Harbour, a synagogue in Surfside, to introduce his new proposal. He said the proposal shows “that as we stand with Israel, we sanction Iran.”

_______________

The government knew about this attack months ago…but just let it happen and pretend they were in the dark.

OOOH!!!, Florida going to increase sanctions on Iran, That’s going to hurt.

Biden is going to have to send them an extra hundred bucks to make up for it.

True, DeSantis could have violated the Commerce Clause and Compact Clause while in Florida.

An action that would've been celebrated at a different time on Free Republic will be condemned and ridiculed in this thread because Governor DeSantis, --who has done more to advance conservatism than any elected official since Ronald Reagan, is behind it.

I can't believe this place sometimes.

Do Conservative Governors use their party’s majority in their State Legislature to benefit themselves politically and monetarily?

DeSantis' conservative majority statehouse is a direct reflection of his leadership.

Explain please.

The US constitution prohibits states from regulating commerce with foreign nations. That power is reserved for the US Congress.

"DeSantis' conservative majority statehouse is a direct reflection of his leadership."

You dodged the question.
