A bill to create an Ebony Alert that would help locate missing Black youth and women, similar to the Amber Alert, has been approved by the state Legislature and is awaiting the signature of Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Earlier this year, state Sen. Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) introduced the Senate bill to address the “often ignored or lack of attention given to Black children and young Black women that are missing in California,” according to a statement.

For capitalizing black, they can forget it. The alert will be ignored just like the Amber alert, Levi’s call, etc. This is almost hilarious. Do they think of anything but skin color?

The passage of this law itself makes me wonder: Are unusually high proportions of Ebony children and young women going missing, compared to those of other races?
Are black Californians uninterested in finding/saving children of other races and don’t want to be bothered with inclusive Amber Alerts?
Reality being what it is (over 90% of CA’s population is (White, Hispanic, or Asian — not Ebony), this will probably lead to losing millions of pairs of eyes potentially spotting missing children. The supporters of separate systems are racist idiots.
remember this is the same gov who appointed an out of state citizen to the senate because she is a black female. 3% of californians are black females. Now they have their own senate seat reserved for them.
