I think it is too little and too late. Israel is mobilizing almost 400,000 troops, that is around ten Army Divisions for you non military types. This is WWII battle size Army and Gaza is not the only target. Hezbollah if smart would slowly fade back into Lebanon because if they irritate Israel too much when done in Gaza those ten divisions will go after them.
Just as Hitler wanted a do over after bombing Britain failed to get the Brits to surrender.
400K works out to a tad bit more than just 10 divisions, even with a logistics tail to consider.
Remember, they are on interior lines.
