What's he gonna do? If he doesn't act quickly enough in a decisive manner, his government will fall. If he's ruthless and kills too many "innocents" in Gaza, he'll get sanctioned by the international community.
Get out to where? These are limited strikes against terrorist buildings, where they give ten minute warnings to evacuate. So they evacuate a couple blocks away and watch the buildings get destroyed.
The bigger problem, is that despite our wishes that the Israelis flatten Gaza, they can't evacuate the Gazans. Sea at once side, Egypt border wall at another side, the rest has an Israeli border wall. The international community (U.N. etc. riled up by Iran) won't allow Israel to move Gazans to the West Bank, or on ships to who knows where. Those devil Muslims will be a problem for many years.
Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005. Now they'll have to go back in and disarm the Muslims there, and secure the area from outside suppliers of arms. Until the international community (U.N. etc. controlled by Iran) forces Israel to vacate again. Rinse, repeat, over and over... at the expense of Israeli lives. Damn, they should just declare war on Iran and obliterate Iran's leaders.
