My speculation...
They have been telling him to come home for months and finally delivered a three day ultimatum.
The researcher's low-carbon travel drama is just to attract the attention of privately funded Climate Emergency labs where political propaganda is more important than research.
Float home?
Good for him for living up to his convictions. Any reduction by him though will be more than offset by the bureaucrats flying off to the next climate change summit.
He could close his eyes, click his heels 3 times and repeat, “there’s no place like home”
“””Grimalda says that he risks losing his post....in Germany for refusing to use a plane as a means of transport back”””
Think for a minute, some guy COULD lose his job in Germany because he doesn’t want to use a plane which is faster, to get back to work.
How did he turn something that isn’t even a story, into an international story? I guess we have to stay tuned to learn if he gets back to work on time.
Lol what a nutjob
The “climate” nonsense grows bigger and bigger!!!!
My kind of “turd in the punchbowl thinker”.
If he were honest he would take a sailing ship follow the Trade Winds. Should be home in a few months.
Wheels blowing off the train...
Only one answer...swim.
He can’t fly for religious reasons
CNN - No thanks.
I’ll bet that if you divided things out to calculate his personal share of the “carbon emissions” for each leg of his trip that you’d get a much higher total than if he’d flown. Cargo ships burn a tremendous amount of fuel, and he’d be one of only a very few passengers aboard.
Plus, as others have pointed out, the planes were going to fly anyway, with or without this moron as a passenger.
But then, if he had any grasp of reality, he wouldn’t be a “climate researcher”, at least not one of the climate-cult variety.
“However, he said the institute gave him three days notice to return by October 2 which would have forced him to fly, according to a statement issued by climate group Scientist Rebellion.”
Why doesn’t he take the high-speed rail, you know, like the one in the Central Valley of California that started construction like 10 years ago? Must be done by now.
After all, that would SAVE THE PLANET and also get him back in 3 days.
“However, he said the institute gave him three days notice to return by October 2 which would have forced him to fly, according to a statement issued by climate group Scientist Rebellion. “
Back when I worked for a living (before Putin started flooding me with money to support his war in Ukraine), I was NEVER allowed 3 days to return home from a business trip...more like 12 hours.
Swim.
L
Kinda like Phileas Fogg?
Trains and cargo ships. What does this moron think those run on? Fairy dust?
