Climate researcher Dr. Gianluca Grimalda says that he risks losing his post at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany for refusing to use a plane as a means of transport back from Papua New Guinea.
Grimalda plans to return to Germany from his research trip without flying in order to reduce his carbon emissions by 90%, and instead intends to travel using ferries, coaches, trains and cargo ships.
However, he said the institute gave him three days notice to return by October 2 which would have forced him to fly, according to a statement issued by climate group Scientist Rebellion.
Grimalda told CNN that the Kiel Institute told him to “expect a second warning/request to show up in Kiel traveling by plane,” after he failed to return and that they “will then issue the letter of redundancy” when he fails to show up a second time.

has Biden started that rail line from the pacific to east africa yet?
He can’t fly for religious reasons
CNN - No thanks.
Sadly, his photo is in the dictionary next to the word, “dork”.
Oh but that’s so mean spirited. And yet likely true.
I’ll bet that if you divided things out to calculate his personal share of the “carbon emissions” for each leg of his trip that you’d get a much higher total than if he’d flown. Cargo ships burn a tremendous amount of fuel, and he’d be one of only a very few passengers aboard.
Plus, as others have pointed out, the planes were going to fly anyway, with or without this moron as a passenger.
But then, if he had any grasp of reality, he wouldn’t be a “climate researcher”, at least not one of the climate-cult variety.
“However, he said the institute gave him three days notice to return by October 2 which would have forced him to fly, according to a statement issued by climate group Scientist Rebellion.”
Why doesn’t he take the high-speed rail, you know, like the one in the Central Valley of California that started construction like 10 years ago? Must be done by now.
After all, that would SAVE THE PLANET and also get him back in 3 days.

Back when I worked for a living (before Putin started flooding me with money to support his war in Ukraine), I was NEVER allowed 3 days to return home from a business trip...more like 12 hours.
What a guy!! I guess he's just a better human being than we are. Don't believe it? Just ask him.
Hey Doc…… I hate to break this to you. The flight is going to happen with or without you on board.
Swim.

No, Neubauer isn’t a Rothschild. She comes from Hamburg, Germany and there aren’t that many Rothschilds left in Germany. She may be related to Germany’s wealth Reemtsma family, who owned one of the world’s largest tobacco companies and had dealings with the Nazis.

Kinda like Phileas Fogg?
Trains and cargo ships. What does this moron think those run on? Fairy dust?
Back when I was working direct for a company, one of our service techs was dispatched to a project in China. He asked if he would be paid over time while traveling (typically a 24 hour trip). The response from management was ”we will only pay you for an 8 hour day”. So, what he did was plan his travel route so that he only traveled for 8 hours a day. It took him 4 days to get there. After that, management changed their policy and paid the OT for long distance travel.
What a dumbass. Hope he doesn’t fart.
OMG. That’s the guy? I can smell him from my sofa.
He apparently thinks the plane won’t fly unless he is on it.
He’s modern scientist, without a doubt.
I wouldn’t trust this guy’s recommendation on ketchup, much less climate change.
