Naval aviation can attack from well inside Russia and vessels can launch Kalibrs from bases deeper in Novorussiya
What’s happening to the Black Sea Fleet is a preview to all naval warfare planners, of the vulnerability of surface vessels. At least the Russians have strategic depth to keep fighting while protecting their fleet.
Oleksiy Goncharenko, an opposition member from embattled Odessa on the Black Sea, presses members of the ruling party of President Volodymyr Zelensky. “I am very concerned,” he says. “Why? Take a look at the front. It doesn’t change. For a year it doesn’t change. But it was paid for by a huge amount of lives. … Ukraine can’t fight ‘as long as it takes.’ That will be a catastrophe.”
Storm Shadow. Striking fear into the hearts of the Russkies.
What does “storm shadow” mean?
British make good anti-ship rockets—Best to pull them out until counter measures can be made—if any. The war will not be decided over the Black Sea. It will be decided by the Ukraine People themselves. Europe is seeing the light, that its a lost cause. The big question will be the elections in Germany and France. If anti-war people are elected—The Russo-Ukraine war is done. Without NATO—there is no war and I think The Nations of Europe are seeing this as a war for Biden’s good only. Mr. Zrlenskyy is looking more and more like crook.
It’s going to allow pensions and social support to be paid to the Ukrainian people
And as a result of the recent and increasing attacks on ships in Sebastopol, Crimea is no longer a thing for Russia.
British smart missiles with a decent range.
Thanks.
Helping Ukraine is the right thing to do. What Brandon is doing is not helping Ukraine. By the time they got tanks, Russia had already built an ocean of mine fields. Both counteroffensives were carried out with insufficient air cover. Against the odds, or perhaps because of Russia’s overly-centralized command structure, Ukraine has made slow, bloody progress. But what needs to happen is a quick, decisive victory and life going back to normal.
Also, the US and the international community should not just be gifting kit to Ukraine. It should be a lend-lease arrangement with specific terms, and likewise with any pension and social support. They must pay it back by a specific date, or there is no end to it.
If I was cynical, I might think Brandon wanted the war to keep going.
He does. My theory is that he wants to empty the cupboard and then plead poverty when China invades Taiwan. “Sorry. Can’t help you. Say ‘hey’ to your new masters.”
Doesn’t seem to be a crisis that the Dems DON’T want to be permanent. E.g., Covid, inflation, “global” worming, Israeli-Arab conflict, poverty, racism.
Any time a “crisis” becomes too small to be thought of, they redefine it. E.g., white supremacy. KKK is no longer a big wheel. Segregation is dead and gone. Lynchings aren’t happening. So math is white supremacy. Wearing a red hat is white supremacy. A black Republican running for office is a white supremacist. Etc., etc., etc.
Or they invent a new one, suddenly “champion” trannies and start indoctrinating kids into becoming them. Or they import illegals and make sure everyone hates them for the mess they make, and the sh!t-holes they help make in once beautiful cities, and they cry “racist” on that. Aesop was a visionary. The Dems have improved on his initial model and made...drum roll...Robo-wolf.
Absolutely.
