The United States on Thursday shot down an armed Turkish drone that was operating near its troops in Syria, the Pentagon said, the first time Washington has brought down an aircraft of NATO ally Turkey.
A Turkish defense ministry official said the drone that was shot down did not belong to the Turkish armed forces, but did not say whose property it was.
Turkey's National Intelligence Agency carried out strikes in Syria against Kurdish militant targets after a bomb attack in Ankara last weekend, a Turkish security source said on Thursday.

What really happened?
Yesterday the Turkish Foreign Minister spoke of infrastructure in the Kurdish region of Syria being legitimate targets for Turkish attack.
This followed a terrorist incident in Ankara the other week blamed on the Kurds.
Infrastructure like oil rigs are protected by the US and allied forces.
Now the neocons are attacking allies because they get too close to our moderate democratic Jeffersonian rebels in the Syrian war

Protected, is that what we call it now when we invade a foreign country, side with the separatist rebel group, and establish a chunk of the country is our own? Weโre protecting it?

So now the Neocons are trying start a war against NATO. Where will they stop? Maybe bomb Antigua for sport or something?
You’d think that trying to start wars against Russia and China would be enough for them, but I guess since those efforts have not been successful, so far, why not try with Turkey, and why would the Neocons care if Turkey is a NATO country - after all, Russia and China are nuclear superpowers, and they certainly aren’t letting that tidbit to get in the way of starting WW3.
Yep, too bad the same US "Protectors" won't protect Infrastructure or US Citizens, in the US, from Foreigners and Marxist Democrat Domestic Terrorists.
