I suspect that if your immune system was robust enough to overcome the virus it might also be able to overcome the vaccines, though probably the fewer jabs the better.

My thought exactly. Frankly I doubt the vaccine had any effect on him whatsoever -- his immune system probably just killed it as a virus.

The primary reason my father got the vaccine is we have a sick family member and the hospital won't let anyone who has not been vaxxed visit.

I would have gotten the vaccine for the same reason. However, for a very specific medical reason I cannot take ANY vaccines. Been that way for about a decade. I'm now happy about that.

PS I think the vaccine is dangerous and forcing people to take it is immoral. That said, you do what you have to for family if you can.
