House Republicans are rushing to elect a new speaker after GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy was dramatically ousted from his position on Tuesday in an unprecedented move. (For the record, he was the first speaker to ever be removed with a vote.)
...
Majority Leader Steve Scalise
As the new top-ranking House Republican, Steve Scalise is the most obvious choice to replace McCarthy, and he has already officially thrown his hat into the ring.
...
Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan
Jim Jordan was one of the House Republicans who defended McCarthy both ahead of and during the vote that ultimately ousted him. But now, Jordan’s hoping to be considered for the position.
...
Oklahoma Rep. Kevin Hern
Kevin Hern was initially nominated for the speakership in January by far-right GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert, who praised him as a “true consensus candidate.”
...
Florida Rep. Byron Donalds
GOP Rep. Andy Harris said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that he would like to see Rep. Byron Donalds as Speaker.

So what’s the plan from here?
One of the 8 was Nancy Mace, who supported McCarthy in January and has a very RINO voting record.
We get a new speaker. What’s not to like?
If the new Speaker is like the old one, which is a real possibility, then what did we achieve?
Do you not see Kevbo was a log jam? Do you not see BiteME talking “wall” the NEXT day????
McCarthy was arrogant because he knew he had a deal with the Dems. They double-crossed him, which apparently never occurred to him.
Electing a Speaker who doesn’t do the bidding of Plugs the Pedo, Schumer and the rest of the Demonrats. You in ?
We sent a message that they either get with the program, or they can be replaced with someone who will. 99% of political leaders should be replaced with the frequency of diapers.
That McCarthy went on Twitter/X and wrote “Bring it !” was the height of arrogance. That Matt Gaetz got 100% of the Demonrats voting to do the bidding of the Conservative base was sheer brilliance.
And do you think that’s actually likely? Remember, this is the same crowd that put McCarthy in in the first place.
And Republicans have a virtually infinite capacity to learn the wrong lesson from any situation. They’ll probably give us someone like McCarthy. Do you think Speaker Scalise would be better?
Getting 7 other Republicans to do the bidding of the Democrats was also very clever.
So you’d rather stick with the guy who enacted the Demonrat agenda over someone who might actually enact a Conservative agenda ? How was McCarthy a good deal at all ? We knew in January he was garbage.
Scalise, if his record is any indication, is precisely 3% better than McCarthy. An improvement, yes, but barely. I think Scalise should retire, his health isn’t good. Better to spend it with family rather than in the city where leftist hate almost got him assassinated. Then again, you’d think that would’ve pushed him to being a 200% Conservative.
How was dumping a RINO/Demonrat puppet Speaker serving the Demonrats ? They got played, not the other way around.
Amazing how big the Derp Kevin McCarthy fanboi club is around here. Between you guys and the Ukraine/Zelensky globalist trolls, FR is turning into Demonrat Underground.
“Kevin was utterly clueless.”
At that point in time he believed Pelosi would keep her promise to support him.
I like Matt too. Add my vote.
“...99% of political leaders should be replaced with the frequency of diapers....”
LOL. And for the same reason. My young kids used to call people like that “poopy brains”.
I’d rather stick with the deal they had than have no plan and kill that deal. The strong likelihood is that it’s going to get a little worse.
You don’t do this without a plan for what comes next.
Hillary agrees, she wants Gaetz punished for dumping RINO Kevin.
