[Jim W N #21] But what Trump doesn’t seem to understand is THE CONSTITUTION CREATED AMERICA!

[Jim W N #55] Well, the Constitution created the United States of America.

[Jim W N #81] You completely miss the point.

Before the Constitution, the USA was....

I get the point exactly. With or without exclamation point, the Constitution did not create the United States of America. "Before the Constitution, the United States was" concedes that the Constitution did not create the United States; rather the United States of America already existed.

The people of the then existing United States of America created the Constitution.

Article 2:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President....

Every President from George Washington until Martin Van Buren was not a natural born citizen, but was a citizen of the United States of America at the time the Constitution was adopted. This would have been impossible had the Constitution created the United States of America.

Additionally, as I linked and quoted, the Articles of Confederation stated at Article 1, "The Stile of this confederacy shall be, “The United States of America.”

And the Paris Peace Treaty of 1783, as quoted, showed it was between Britain "and the United States of America."

Your statement that the Constitution created the United States was nonsense. Your repetition of the claim was juvenile.

[Jim W N #81] The point is 1) the greatest threat to our lives, liberties, and wellbeing is the $3+ trillion 80%+ unconstitutional portion of the federal government which has become totalitarian and 2) In order to restore our Free Constitutional Republic we MUST reinstate the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land over the feds. THAT’S the point.

Your ridiculous statement at #21 and #55 that the Constitution created the United States neither made nor furthered any such claim.

The Constitution resulted in a revolution of the government to rival that of the revolutionary government itself.

Article 6 of the Constitution states, "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land...."

The Supremacy Clause has not changed. The Constitution itself has changed. As for the initial distortion of the Constitution, starting with Washington, the President got to appoint the Supreme Court justices. Just coincidentally, they were all Federalists for a couple of generations, drawing on a blank slate. Where the Constitution was subject to interpretation, the interpreting body was composed of members taken from a single school of interpretation.

While the original Constitution revolutioned government, so did the amendments and actions taken in the Civil War era. Before, there was no large standing army. Lincoln had a maximum 75,000 troops he could mobilize. His initial unfunded mobilization was unconstitutional. His delegation of his non-existent authority to suspend habeas corpus was unconstitutional. His unapportioned income tax was unconstitutional. The IRB (now IRS) to enforce the unapportioned income tax was unconstitutional. We also got the National Police Force. There was unconstitutional implementation of martial law in the Union where the civilian courts were functioning. There were unconstitutional military tribunals to try non-statutory alleged civilian crimes. One class of prisoners was officially designated as "political prisoners" and so appear in the Official Records of the War of the Rebellion. A tenth justice was added to the Supreme Court, making five Lincoln appointees; insurance against adverse opinions.

The biggest culprit was the 14th Amendment. That reversed the relationship between the Federal government and the States. In declaring who were citizens of the States, it ended State self-determination of its citizenry, and effectively ended State sovereignty. It was also used to vastly extend the power of the Federal government over the States via incorporation of elements of the original Bill of Rights against the States.

The manner in which 14A was ratified is a story unto itself, rather an obscenity, but undeniably 14A has become a part of the Constitution.

You do not change or correct any of that by declaring the Constitution created the United States.

[Jim W N #81] Get with you Leftist buddies.

Get with your fellow imbeciles who also practice Ready, Fire, Aim; and who think that declaring that the Constitution created the United States is a mantra which will cure all. Stating crackpot nonsense does not cure anything. Such a mantra only serves to undermine anything else you may state.

You emphasize the off-point hair-splitting minor and miss the major.

My point is 1) the greatest threat to our lives, liberties, and wellbeing is the $3+ trillion 80%+ unconstitutional portion of the federal government which has become totalitarian and 2) In order to restore our Free Constitutional Republic we MUST reinstate the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land over the feds.

(Addressing your off-point argument, the Constitution CREATED THE USA as we know it today. It formed “a more perfect union” by scrapping the old Articles of Confederation, strengthening the union and decentralizing republican governance and state sovereignty. That new USA simply did not exist before the Constitution.)

Ths issue of the day isn’t your hair-splitting continuous and off-point argument about the before and after the creation of the Constitution, but the grave peril America faces today and the absolute criticality that the Constitution as written and originally understood and intended be reinstated and the $3+ trillion 80%+ unconstitutional portion of the feds be dismantled. No easy task.

If you are actually a Patriot, then get with the real issue of the day and quit doing what the left does by deflecting from the real issue. If you insist on pounding sand on your off-point argument, I will not respond because it is a waste of time.

Again, I repeat, the issue of the day is the reinstatement of the Constitution AS WRITTEN AND ORIGINALLY UNDERSTOOD AND INTENDED as the Supreme Law of the Land.
