Trump posted this on Truth Social about Kevin McCarthy on 1/7/2023:
“The Fake News Media was, believe it or not, very gracious in their reporting that I greatly helped Kevin McCarthy attain the position of Speaker of the House. Thank you, I did our country a big favor.”
Trump’s disastrous judgment has once again proven NOT to be a big favor for the country.
As usual, what were the alternatives? What back room deals were in place. Trump thought there was more to be gained than lost by supporting Kevin. We have no idea what went into that calculus.
Trump is so bad at choosing people for government positions that people choosing the opposite would be a win.
