Putin refuses to recognize Ukraine as a nation.

For hundreds of years, leaders have sparred over control of Russia, depending on whether their roots were in Kiev or Moscow. Lands got carved away from one side or the other, back and forth. Lenin, Khrushev are recent ones, Putin the latest.

This will continue going on in the future, despite Ukraine being a separate nation.

Things aren't looking good for the Russia-haters in the Slovakian elections tomorrow.

Former Prime Minister Robert Fico appears to be in the lead.

Of course, the BBC says it's no big deal, since Slovakia already demilitarized itself by giving over its weapons to the Ukraine...
