My wife and I go to the local grocery store deli. They always have short shelf life product they are trying to sell before they have to toss it. We can get a much better quality, balanced, meal for both of us for about $12. Done with the fast food slop.

We go to a local butcher shop that deals directly with local farmers and buy 2 weeks worth of prime grade meat for around $60.00

“Improvise, adapt, overcome” is the motto we are living by these days. Should not be this way. Does not need to be this way but as long as it is, we will find a way around it.

I have to do a lot of traveling for work.

It has gotten to the point where any meal was costing $30 *OR MORE* so I started packing my lunches and dinners. Saving about $25 per meal sure adds up.

Plus I’ve lost weight.

Newsom must have money in the companies that make robots. Those companies will be the winner.

If I’m in Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side I can get a burger for around $8.00. Cross over into Kalifornia and you will pay closer to $15.00.

Ok class, which restaurants and burger chains will close first?

Whenever I’m out and about and stop there I take along my own soda instead of paying through the nose for a cup full of ice, and get 2 plain cheeseburgers (without onions...supposedly asking for, them this way means they are made fresh on the spot). Price isnt too bad that way

Once in awhile though I’ll lose my mind and go crazy and order a crispy chicken deluxe, and pay what it would cost me to get a whole cooked chicken at a grocery store.

I quit their fries when they stopped using lard.

First off, you miss the entire point: It’s (mostly) not labor costs triggering the price increases.

But on the details, you’re also wrong: McDonald’s net income has exploded in the past year, up over 50% over what was already a very highly profitable year, as their prices soared. So yeah, the price of beef rising so much has hurt somewhat, but have you seen a McDonald’s burger lately???

It’s just insane! Prices are through the roof. Prices were coming down under Trump, after the disasterous tyranny of the obama regime, but Biden made sure Prices soared again like they did under obama. We now pay as much for pork as we did for ny strip steaks on sale when Trump was in office. Used to be able to get ribeye for around $9 lb or so onsale- those days are long gone- $12 is now their sale price. COLA isn’t keeping up with prices that is for sure. Can’t get a bag of chips anymore under $5 a bag- oh and the bags are smaller now too.

If the employees make $20/hr it is not a 1:1 correlation the the Big Mac will cost the same.

Yes! Absolutely! Most have attitudes too. Ask for extra ketchup or salt or whatever and watch them act as though you just asked them to work, or something- they don’t like it.

It used to be ff workers had to beware of unhinged customers- these days it,seems customers have to beware of unhinged ff workers

Nothing brings out the "managerial class" warfare against the working class like the min. wage.

You guys fall for it every time.

C’mon, it’s just a higher minimum wage and that’s a fair compromise since it’s only on some fast food restaurants. It’s not like a $20 minimum wage for all jobs. /s

Wow throwback Republicans watch entire industries being offshored to China and the 3rd world and all you guys worry about is how much a dishwasher gets paid per hour. Beyond small minded, we are in gnat brain territory.

Yep! Growing up we used to,be able to “treat ourselves “ once in awhile as a family and go out to eat at a fast food place. These days though we go out and got sticker shock, and like you said “heck with it- no more”.

I’m betting a lot of people are coming to the same conclusion, knowing that they can eat at home for less than 1/2 the price and get much better food too. Fast food joints are gonna be in big trouble as more and more people come to realize that- the only ones left will be the rich who can stil. Afford to eat out where they like. Im also betting that like you, people like truckers are now packing their lunches and dinners and just stop at rest stops for coffee once in awhile because prices are through the roof.

The America we grew up in is no more it seems. Everything liberals touch turns to crap, like Trump said.

It is not “all we worry about”- we are capable of worrying about the price of things going berserk, and cola not keeping up AND businesses being offshore, all at the same time- heck, we even worry about many many other things too! but thanks for the insults- guess you needed an ego boost this am?
