They cost about triple compared to the Diesel ones.
And, even if they worked, they need to spend long time in the docking station. That means you need double the number of EV busses to achieve the same work, provided they work as advertised!

Instead, a majority wanted driving to remain inconvenient in hopes that people would ride more bikes and take public transit, Vogelheim said, adding, “That’s not very practical.” Who is this "majority" wanting driving to be inconvenient? That's a problem everywhere, building bike paths that no one uses, and wasting money on public transit that doesn't work. No thanks, I want to drive my car.

From the article:
"Proterra might have seemed like a solid company when the buses were ordered. It enjoyed financial support from federal taxpayers, as well as praise from President Joe Biden. Probably no better reason than that to pass on the deal.

Here is another bribed car maker doomed to fail.
Beginning in 2030, Rolls Royce will start phasing out all its engines that run on internal combustion, replacing them with electric technology.

“He said that people often judge the ridership by looking at buses at the beginning or end of routes when there aren’t many riders and conclude it’s a system getting little use.”
I was just up there last year, beautiful place, local politics sucks though.
From what I remember, there were not a lot of people on these busses no matter where on the route they were.
On a side note Hand Fire Pizza, Jackson Drugs, and StillWest Brewery & Grill are good places to eat.
