China simply has lower operating costs than the US ever could.

Insurance on rental housing units in Florida runs in the thousands of dollars annually per unit.

It costs roughly $12,000 to $25,000/year/student for public K-12 education in the USA on average by state.
Impact fees to build a house in some parts of the USA might run $25,000.
The naming list of requirements to build a house in a Florida county might be 24 pages long. I probably could not lift the books of regulations involved.
Florida is run by lawyers for the benefit of lawyers. The USA has long been a highly regulated country.

True that. Same goes with Vietnam, Mexico, etc. Could such a thing be somewhat balanced out by carefully applying tariffs?
When I graduated from high school many decades ago, I had my pick of good factory and mill jobs. Those factories and mills are all gone now.
What we have today are masses of people who have no access to work that would allow them to live a middle-class lifestyle. So they live on the dole. This cannot continue. Something’s gotta give.
I have an idea of something that could stop it in less than 5 minutes.
We would have had our Civil War then and gotten it over with.
Stop it and it wouldn’t begin for another generation. Not just shooting a few withour reteaching with prejudice.

They don’t know what they’re voting for because we no longer (it’s been a while) teach critical thinking. Leftists are so dumbed down to the point they believe whatever the media and Democrats tell them.
That’s why they can’t be debated-—they have no critical thinking skills. No matter what you tell them (facts, figures, etc) they simply group think. To them, differing of opinion is an attack on them personally because they have no rebuttal because they can’t think on their own.
Critical thinking was stopped because Progressives don’t like free thinkers. Sadly, I don’t think it can be undone unless there’s:
A—Awakening to Christ
B—They destroy each other.
Nope, we should have simply NOT let African slaves into the new country at all. It would have prevented a ton of problems and saved lives in the process. The existing slaves could have remained, of course as their numbers were low.
