Is this even a conservative website anymore? Many of y’all have lost your bearings. DeSantis has moved his electorate and the country further to the right and towards freedom than anyone since Ronald Reagan, and too many here have become Trump drones spitting out nonsense. If Trump is still your guy, fine, but it’s time to read up on Florida’s electoral and policy success over the past three or four years and realize who the good guys are.
DeSantis has been excellent as Governor of Florida. But attacking Trump is one of the most bone headed moves in modern American politics. He could have had almost any job he wanted in the next Trump administration.
I don’t know who is dumber, the advisors who told Ron to do it or Ron himself for doing it. The vast majority of the Republican base doesn’t just want Trump. We are demanding Trump.
So for good or bad it’s Trump in 2024. That’s just a fact.

Good observations, Yes it does seem that Free Republic has changed.
We are told that just about every Republican besides Trump is some sort of RINO or is too liberal or is too deep state.
Spend enough time on Free Republic , and you will be told that there is something wrong with just about every nationally known Republican.
Turning Trump supporters into DeSantis haters was a master stroke by the Left - you have to admit. Whoever said what, the media has done a magnificent job of stoking the fires higher on behalf of the Democrats.

Not a question of conservative vs. liberal or right vs. left. It’s We the People vs. The elite. DeSantis is elite.
Lots of us realize the “I’m a conservative” isn’t enough .. lots of us want America first …
