Exclusive: Ukrainian pilots get virtual jump on F-16 training

OUTSIDE KYIV, UKRAINE — Ukrainian pilots are honing their skills in virtual F-16 fighter jet cockpits as they anxiously await approval to travel abroad for training.

A Ukrainian pilot gave a demonstration to a reporter from The Hill in an exclusive visit to a secret facility this month, where the cockpit simulation was displayed on large computer monitors for a small audience.

Andrii, a Su-27 fighter pilot who goes by the call sign ‘Sabre,’ sat in a mock jet seat with a joystick, pedals under his feet, and a throttle to the left. The action takes place in a virtual reality headset.

with all the money and equipment they are wasting on Zelensky, they could have just used the money to pay up the debt to Russia and have enough left over to rebuild Ukraine infrastructure

They could send Zelensky on vacation to Martha's Vinyard supplied with some of Hunters prostitutes and tell Russia the CIA will prop up a more submissive despot in place of Zelensky who will promise not to constantly "poke the bear"

....was an aircraft maintainer for many years on the Block 30 F-16 C and D models...with the ultra-reliable General Electric F110 engine....training pilots is just a small part of this proposed scenario...it takes a lot of training for the maintainer community to keep these jets flying... nothing seems to be said about how the maintainers are going to be trained, e.g., this aircraft is full of sophisticated avionics and subsystems.....

At McDonnell-Douglas, we heard a story about when the Saudis were first sold F-15s. The manuals were written at a 9th grade level. The Saudis asked for the manuals to be written at a 6th grade level. Our people basically told them "They're friggin' F-15s! Find some smart people to work on them!"
