Cop overreaction deserves a grand jury indictment?
I think the cop should have filled a paper bag with dog logs, lit it on fire, and made the kid stomp it out.
Back in the day If you did something stupidly juvenile, maybe under influence of Boone’s farm, causing a nuisance and then mouthing off to LEO who caught you-
Tuned up by LEO then spirited home to waiting parents who are then given summary of events leading up to knot on head and some peripheral bruising-
Result in a parental tune up to emphasize initial instruction of LEO
Disincentive to continue further actions resulting in “tune ups”
I watched the video and it goes beyond overreaction. He thought it was one kid so he went to that kids house, yanked him out and onto the ground and cuffed him. Kid had nothing to do with it. Back on the road, finds the right kid, throws him down, knee to the neck, cuffs him, throws him in the car and once inside, punches him in the face and shatters his eye socket. This guy has a serious temper issue.

If the article is correct, I’d also think a couple of years in jail. The trooper allegedly hit the kid so hard the he fractured one of the kid’s eye sockets. The kid was handcuffed at the time.
The kid deserved to be arrested for some misdemeanor crime. The trooper deserves to go to prison.
