Yes and the Vatican was most helpful in that endeavor. Most went to Patagonia (most notable was Adolf Eichman and Josef Mengele, the latter fleeing Buenos Aires for Paraguay after hearing of Eichman’s capture). Many Argentinians believe that Hitler himself did not die in Germany but rather, lived out his years in Patagonia. There is even an abandoned compound the locals will tell you belonged to Hitler.
