That all might be true, ask yourself, when someone says they were a “Freedom Fighter” from Ukraine who fought against the Russians in WW II, who exactly were they fight with ???
If they were fighting against the Russians, at the very least they were partisans fighting with the Nazis.
For any kind of astute politician, the obvious question would be, what kind of Freedom Fighter was this guy.
Yaroslav Hunka, 98, volunteered for the Waffen SS in 1943, he voluntarily posted information about himself and pictures of himself in training and in the field with his Waffen SS unit.
He wasn’t trying to hide who he was, a 5 minute google search could have uncovered this guy’s past.
His Waffen SS Unit was implicated in various war crimes.
If Trudeau and the Canadian House Speaker didn’t know who this guy was, IMO, Zelensky knew for sure who this guy was, the Ukrainian people know full well who the “Freedom Fighters” of WW II were and who they fought with.
But careful examination of the actual historical records which was done when Hunka and others were admitted to Western countries showed that Hunka and others did not commit any war crimes. You forgot to mention that part.
The very unit Hunka was supposedly a part of took a special oath that differed from other German units because they were joining just to fight against Russians.
And fighting against Russians is something Ukrainians have been forced to do many times.
While all the pro Russian club members are trying to focus everyone's attention on one 18 year old kid who joined an effort to fight Russians 80 years ago, Russians are once again invading Ukraine and destroying Ukrainian cities, abducting Ukrainian children, raping Ukrainian women and girls, and killing Ukrainians.
Why is what one guy did in 1943 more important than what tens of thousands of Russians are doing today?
