Yeah they don't have the reactive armor that we employ. But the problem is, these tanks are hard to operate. All the tankers I knew while I was in the Army trained non stop on these tanks, and they required lots of downtime and repair/refit after every training not to mention, combat mission. Very expensive to operate and also require a robust parts and maintenance schedule. I think giving Ukraine these tanks is bullshit.

The USA could deliver a brand new M-1 gift wrapped to Red Square and the Russians would not be able to copy it.
The Russians can’t even deliver a single T-14 to their troops. They’re not going to be able to do much with an advanced M-1 besides just sell it to China and hope they can reverse engineer it.

Anyone thinking Russia and China and Iran doesn’t already have their spying citizens within those programs doesn’t know those programs.
