Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez is being charged with bribery offenses in a federal indictment out of the Southern District of New York, prosecutors announced Friday.

"Today, I'm announcing that my office has obtained a three count indictment charging Senator Robert Menendez, his wife Nadine Menendez, and three New Jersey businessmen – Wael Hana, Jose Uribe and Fred Daibes – for bribery offenses," U.S. Attorney Damien Williams said at a news conference late Friday morning.

More optics so the feds can say that they administer justice “fairly” regardless of party affiliation. This is a safe democrat seat so Menendez can afford to be the sacrificial lamb. Doing this a year before the election will allow the dems in NJ to groom a replacement for 2024 when the corruption news will have blown over.

Actually, the opposite may be true.

Menendez is a first class crook. No doubt about it.

But, Menendez hasn't done anything worse than what Biden has done. Both were/are crooks, and for many years.

Menendez is being used as a tool, to indicate to Biden that what Menendez is being accused of is the same as what Biden is being accused of, but in Biden's case, it's a much bigger problem with larger amounts of money being exchanged for selling influence, and much bigger still because Biden was vice-president at the time. So, Menendez is the sacrificial lamb in the democrats' attempt to get Biden to leave and not run again.

That occurred to me as well.

So now if anyone says these Trump indictments are political and unjustified, the Liberals and their apologists can say, look at Bob Menendez, look at Hunter Biden ,and say that Justice is being administered regardless of politics.

So they will try to push the narrative that , while Trump and Republicans are in legal trouble, look at how Democrats get in legal trouble too, and that Justice is administered regardless of politics.
