Washington and some NATO partners made a strong effort to see if Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky could be put on a peace track with Russia. The effort failed, and Zelensky’s visit to the UN and Washington is aimed at creating support to continue the war – in particular, achieving a commitment from Congress to approve another $24.9 billion in assistance and new weapons for Ukraine’s arsenal.
The House of Representatives, where all money bills must originate, is struggling at the moment over a continuing resolution (CR) to keep federal funding going. The $24.9 billion for Ukraine is not in any proposed CR, at least so far.
The Biden administration Ukraine request breaks down to $13.1 billion for military assistance; $8.5 billion allegedly for humanitarian assistance; and $2.3 billion for “financing and to catalyze donors through the World Bank,” whatever that means.

I guess pie is pie, no matter
the size of the piece.
I would love to see our
elected show as much concern
with our domestic ills.
No more Money for Ukraine.
STOP THE MONEY (Laundering)!
I saw Paul speak a day or 2 ago. I think he said we have sent them 113 billion dollars? This is money we are creating like Monopoly money or borrowing from CHINA!
I’m unsure why he hasn’t got much traction or push to be POTUS, he seems to be genuinely concerned with the state of our union. As much or more than anyone out there.
I could get them to make peace in 24 hours.
The border of Ukraine is more important to the DC crowd than the American border.
This war has ruined us most of all our alliances, it will be the disaster of us all.
What a pathetic joke of a nation we’ve become, can’t even stop the unrestricted immigration...
...we deserve our come-upance.
We could easily get Zelensky to negotiate with Russia again by using the same methodology applied in Spring 2022 to derail negotiations: threaten to cut off all support. But is it more likely there will be a drawn out period of arguing about diplomacy that will be used to try resuscitating Ukraine for more fighting? Not sure. We’ll see.
[a commitment from Congress to approve another $24.9 billion]
Good gosh
[...we deserve our come-uppance.]
Should be the politicians that keep making it happen.
Because the military industrial complex has no interest in the US border.
To hell with Ukraine.
yep
This is a intentional destruction of our nation into financial collapse and total chaos so they can take power forever. Still More ☭Dem_Insanity!
Saul Alinsky's Cloward Piven method
The House, where all money bills must originate, is struggling
over a continuing resolution to keep OUR govt funded.
The $24.9 billion for Ukraine is not in any proposed CR......so far.
Yet Biden demands Ukraine be handed
<><> $13.1 billion tax dollars for military assistance;
<><>$8.5 billion for “humanitarian aid” (to finance Mrs Zelensky’s shopping trips to Paris);
<><> plus $2.3 billion to the World Bank for an idiotic scheme to pressure other donors.
No word on how much gets deposited offshore for the Bidens and the corrupt Zelensky crew.
He just went to ask for more money and stuff. With 0 oversight. Quit giving it to him. He will drain what’s left of the bank accounts and move somewhere else.
The money that’s gone to defend Ukraine is chicken scratch compared to what being wasted (stolen from) COVID and Green Energy boondoggles alone. Then let’s get into Medicaid, and SS disability fraud, etc., etc.
blah blah blah
