Polish President Andrzej Duda has said Kiev should not forget the crucial role Poland plays in Western military aid to Ukraine. The veiled threat came after cash-strapped Ukraine launched legal action against Warsaw over Poland’s embargo on imports of Ukrainian grain.
“It would be good for Ukraine to remember that it receives help from us and to remember that we are also a transit country to Ukraine,” Duda told reporters on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Speaking about the need to protect Poland’s domestic markets from the influx of Ukrainian grain, Duda compared the neighboring country to “a drowning person [who] is extremely dangerous because he can pull you to the depths.”
The Polish president said Warsaw has a duty to defend itself against businessmen who “would like to sell grain as quickly as possible at the lowest possible cost.”
Last week, Poland extended its temporary ban on Ukrainian grain, despite the European Commission lifting bloc-wide restrictions. “We will do it because it is in the interest of the Polish farmer,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday.
Kiev reacted by suing Poland, as well as Hungary and Slovakia, and alleging that the embargoes imposed by the three countries are in violation of the World Trade Organization rules. “It is fundamentally important for us to prove that individual member states cannot ban the import of Ukrainian goods,” Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko said in a statement.

The conservative Polish government now in power relies on support from farmers and rural voters. They are not so foolish as to wreck the incomes of those core supporters through massive imports of Ukrainian grain.

According to Poland, Putin is a Satanic menace, Hitler the Second, who will bring war and destruction to the entire earth, and re-enslave Poland and destroy the EU, and the future of Human civilization hangs in the balance...
But the real threat is Ukraine grain dumping.
Somehow, the Germans did not quite realize that threatening Poland was sure to get strong push back, which came in the form of the reparations and education demand. And in truth, the Poles have a point: Poland was not monetarily compensated and most of the German public has only a superficial understanding of German brutality and criminality in WW II. Germans these days tends to reflexively regard such claims exaggerated and their wartime conduct as a closed subject.
Yet Germany today is a nation in decline due to economic changes and mass immigration, while Poland is on the rise, with a military soon to be Europe's most powerful. Until the invasion of Ukraine, Germany's national strategy was that their oil and gas pipelines to Russia would generate wealth for the state and prosperity for the German economy. The Poles now see Germany (correctly) as unreliable and subject to potential civil disorder and breakdown due to mass immigration.
Poland also warned the world in 2008 that if Russia wasn’t stopped at Georgia that they would go after Ukrainian then onto the Baltic states then Poland.

Putin and his allies have indicated that Poland is on the target list after Ukraine. For the Polish government though, the next election comes much sooner and Polish farmers are not to be aroused needlessly.
Ukraine is demanding that Poland return these potential draftees to Ukraine, so they can be sent to the eastern front. I believe Poland have have said No.

Can’t help but wonder if Poland takes a hint from its own dismemberment experience in WWII and winds up taking Galicia back (western Ukraine) when Russia rolls over what is left of the AFU.
Neither Poland or the EU need Ukraine’s grain. Zelenski wants to open up Poland as a transfer hub to the EU for children, women, organs and drugs. Poland wants nothing to do with it.
This will come out, just not by Western media. Some of the independents are picking up on it.

Ukraine is a former Soviet State. It is an original founding constituent member of the USSR, just like Russia, and Poland is not.
Ukraine isn’t Poland, and Ukraine is NOT in nato. It’s inconceivable that you can’t seem to understand this simple concept. I think you are Ukrainian troll.
