Republican infighting reached new heights this week as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy engaged in a war of words with conservative hard-liners on his right flank.
Republicans in the Senate watched their counterparts in the House with dismay as internal squabbles over spending put McCarthy’s future as speaker in doubt and increased the odds of a government shutdown at the end of the month.
“It’s a shitshow in the House. It’s always a shitshow in the House,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said. “Eventually, what’s going to happen is a government shutdown, [and it] will not go well for us.”
Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ark.) was equally blunt about the situation during an interview with NBC: “It’s an unmitigated disaster right now on the majority side.”
“I’m fearful of what this leads to,” Womack added.

Trump has been strangely silent about his butt buddy McCarthy. I’m certain Trump’s finger is in the air on this one. He doesn’t choose people well.
So you are saying you are okay with a CR and omnibus. You are okay with $2 trillion per year in deficit spending and debt. You are okay with Pelosi’s and Biden’s spending and programs. If you are you are the enemy.
Obviously, there are more Republicans who will vote for Hakeem Jeffries then there are who will vote for a freedom Caucus member.
Therefore, with 212 Democrats voting to vacate, plus six Stupid Party members, McCarthy is out and Jeffries is in.
Congratulations, Speaker Jeffries.
There is no hope left since the eGOP is useless and Trump cannot do it alone.

We haven't been too great at that recently. We have a very slim margin in the House and we do not control the Senate or the WH. What do you expect this man to do??? If he loses even a few Republican House votes in purple districts, anything he wants to do is DOA. I don't think you know how this whole government thing works. You don't get to dictate policy with a 5 vote majority in the House.
That’s the game of chicken isn’t it? If McCarthy gets his way, there will be a CR followed by an omnibus. That funds Democrat programs and spending from the last Congress. Explain how Jeffries isn’t already Speaker right now. Explain how these so-called moderate Republicans are not really Democrats. I’m fine with Jeffries becoming Speaker because there is no difference between McCarthy, his supporters and Jeffries. It’s the status quo. No real change. These assistant Democrats will be on record supporting Jeffries.
Of course, the assistant Democrats could do the right thing and save their seats from the wrath of their constituents. That’s vote in a real conservative as Speaker.

You need to study the last 30 years in New England. When liberal Tepublicans are tossed out by the wrath of their constituents, they are replaced by communists. Every…single…time.
