Been that way since I was a kid when brothers and I got a dime allowance per week.

My brothers would immediately spend and I would save.

Later when I could have shopped at Nordstrom, I shopped at Sears.

It’s just common sense cuz s**t happens and it’s best to be prepared. DUH!

I imagine that 1/3 never knew or listened to anyone who went through the depression. I was under employed and unemployed during the 1982 recession and only dipped into savings for $500.

I don't think we have experienced anything like what is coming down the road.

When we asked our Dad for a dollar, he’d point us to the garden hoe and say ‘weed four rows of corn at a quarter each.’

I have NOT had a car payment since 1984.

NO mortgage payment since 2004.
