A few years ago there was a knock on my front door.
A city green guard warrior said he was doing a survey of non-native invasive plants. We have a large English ivy covered hill. The ivy stabilizes the soil.
I was told that I should "consider" removing the ivy before I was legislated to.
At that point I advised him that the when state, county and city first removes all the ivy they planted for soil stabilization reasons in the 60's, I'll consider his "suggestion". And then added - the state brought in Scot's Bloom in the 30's also for soil stabilization along highway reasons. All that has to go first.
To which he left and said "We will be back!" . Haven't heard from them now over 10 years.
Man, that’s quite an experience.
